What I’m working on: contemplating next year

Image
I know, it feels a bit weird, to just be suddenly thinking about ”what should my focus be on for the next year?” ~~~~~~~~ I know, the photo doesn't really match my question, but it does show that my kids wanted me to draw a "wolf in a forest" for them on your driveway, and then I later tried to add two wold cubs to make it all a bit more cute. Just goes to show that I am quite rubbish at drawing with chalk on asphalt. I think I should stick to quilting instead. ~~~~~~~~~~ It’s the middle of May, and for the first time in many many MANY months, I feel a bit more ready to plan ahead. (A sarcastic ”thank you?” here to the depression for taking away all of that back before I started getting rid of it.) Not plan ahead of a lot of things, but since handicrafts for me feels ”safe” to plan ahead on (unlike life in general), I guess that’s why the thought just popped up. This year (2019) it’s ”hand-sewing and hand-quilting”.  Last year, it was ”free

Stash update April 2019

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think this listing one stash update per month is a bit better than listing them each separately. I think it might make me more consistent with trying to stay under 40 euros a month on quilting supplies. This month at least I did - only one thing bought! I did this, because I know there will be some higher expenses in May, and also because we had the stomach flu in the family and there's no way you'd want to go shopping with the kids then :/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's this one, and of course I got fed up with the small knobs it had for handles, so I swapped them out for leftover Ikea ones we had saved from our bookcases. (Jysk) 20.00      sewing kit , black ============== 20,00 € total Total spent on stash this year: January     68.26 euros February     9.00 euros March       66.24 euros April         20.00 euros ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE ask permission BEFORE you PUBLICLY copy anything from my blog. My quilting WIPs and UFOs in April 2019
Image
The semi-official theme I've kinda chosen for my focus this year is hand-sewing . Lots of American bloggers seem hard on having these "words of the year", but I think I'm gonna stick to my "crafting themes of the year" instead ;) I already have lots of projects in my WIP:s to start with that hand-sewing; R is for Rita, the Second Christmas quilt, the Discovery quilt (of the Hand Pieced QAL), the Sashiko quilt, the Summer Kingfisher quilt. Some of them I've started on, and some are still waiting for the others to get finished so I'll get more room to work on them. It's May the 1st (yeah, not even May the 4th and Star Wars day, sigh...) as I'm writing this. I attended the spring exhibit at Arbis with three of my own quilts (Violet Evergarden,  Autumn Kingfisher  and  Rainbow Scraps ). I took a lot of photos and posted about it all on Instagram. Lots have also happened on the quilting front since April ended, and even if it f
