I think it might make me more consistent with trying to stay under 40 euros a month on quilting supplies. Then came June.... and I had to leave Vasa for nearly a week to go to Hanko and complete two intensive courses in pedagogy. With me, I took some hand sewing EPP blocks for both R(ed) is for Rita and my Secret Hearts quilt.  I took the most boring pieces I could with me - just so I would be forced to finish them if I had any leftover time. I didn't have time to second hand/thrift shop for anything other than one pair of pants! Because I sorely needed a pair! Such is life when you pack in a hurry... This month I kinda caved in, and bought myself some very sorely needed new ergonomic thimbles and an ergonomic seam ripper. I threw all my old seam rippers away. And I don't miss them at all! I also finally bought the white Perla fabric I needed to complete my Sawtooth stars quilt!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of my maternal aunts had done some destashing,  and these were the things she sent me. After I had gone through all the plastic bags, throwing away all the yarns that were brittle and  all the supplies that weren't anything I could donate to either the children's daycare or other people, those I put into my own stash. Since I'm still trying to get better from having that slipped disc in my spine, there hasn't been a lot of walking/shopping I've wanted to do. But, since the Hand Pieced QAL is still underway, and me wanting to quilt both the Discovery and Defiant quilts by hand, as well as sew all the blocks etc for both, I needed to go get at least some more supplies. At Halonen, I got some more spray baste and I also found that they had needle grippers for sale. At Eurokangas I got enough polyester batting for one more color block quilt. At Folkhälsan Retro Bazaar, I found more embroidery floss. And I also got some more fabric scraps out of  the Arbis fabric stash. I know I want to quilt the Discovery and Defiant quilts by hand, and for that I would need fine  (preferably Perle) cotton thread. And I really lucked out! Last month I found those embroidery threads, and this months a whole plastic bag of Perle cottons! And the price was really good, too! I even lucked out with the choices of colors; white, pinks, violets and lilac. Perfect to use on both Discovery and Defiant. Then, some red and fabrics, that I can use for my "Red is for Rita" quilt. And then, because I asked nicely, my lovely husband bought me some more EPP supplies when he went shopping for car parts. (Comboliina flea market) 1,00    bag with lots of Perle cottons 3,00...
