My progress in the Goodreads reading challenge of 2018

It was 56 books in August. Now, in September, I'm up to 63. I will continue to say this: if I had more money, Amazon would have to "shut up and take it". Because on my Kindle wish list I have : "Margaret goes Modern" by Francis O'Roark Dowell "The Thief" by J R Ward "Soulless" by Kate Rudolph  "Phoenix Unbound" by Grace Draven "Archangel's Prophecy" by Nalini Singh "Wild Country" by Anne Bishop Like I said, "shut up and take my money". Because those books aren't the only ones on my lists, I have many many more craft books too... ---o--- Wishing you a happy reading day :)

I have read 56 books now, in August, according to my Goodreads tracking. (Yes, still LOTS of paranormal romance books read here) Oh, it’s much more than that, but somehow I find that I would feel embarrassed to add all the childrens books I’ve read to the count. Because some of those books have been read about a 100 times (surely!) by now. What with having to read some of them over and over again straight after finishing. Reading to kids can be like that. Or, after the first page, they can be like ”meeh!” and don’t want to see the book again. They’re small book snobs. Picky readers, gotta love them 😘

So, I managed by April to read at least 25 books. That was my Goodreads challenge for this year , and unlike last year, I don't want to stress myself by changing the challenge to a larger number.  If you take into account that nearly all of these books have been read in the Amazon Kindle app, and thus also that I have bought them via Amazon, they represent how much money I've bought books for already this year. Since I'm still on child care welfare, the amount of money left for buying books is ridiculously low by now. And no, I don't have any savings left. The library and the net are the options left for me now...at least until the day I get a job. Out of these 27 books, " Love Minus Eighty" by Will McIntosh  is the one that's  going to be one of this year's most memorable books. I've had it on my Amazon wish list for 3 years now, and only went it suddenly went on sale for 3,71 dollars did I have the money to be able to buy it (I usually...

It's only March yet, and I think I might make it this year too... So.... I put 25 because, and I quote myself " I'm thinking of putting my reading challenge for this year [to] be 25. And not change that, just to be on the safe side. ". Now that I'm at 19, I think I might consider changing it to 50, just like last year. And yes, as you can see, I still only/mostly read books in the genre Paranormal/Fantasy, and that won't change. But I must say, seeing the covers of all of them shown like this, it looks like half of them just took a hunk of a photo model and photo-shopped his torso into another color to make it more alien. Well, if you read about alien warriors in different setting, I guess body armor doesn't get a lot of feature? (Yes, I'm more than slightly sarcastic here :P )

One of the changes since 2013 is that I've gone over to read books on my phone a whole lot more. I like it, because it is easier for my eyes when I can set the text size however big or small I want. And choose how bright the screen behind it is, or have it be completly black. With the kids being awake at all odd hours and me havig turned slightly insomniac, I find it calming to not have toss and turn in bed or wake up my husband (yeah, I married Mikael in 2014 :) that's yet another change here). Also, thanks to the "low light zoom"-function on the iPhone, I can read and use the phone at night and not light up the whole room. And it's way more restful on the eyes. Otherwise, since everything about my data usage on the phone is tracked... what I read on the Kindle app automatically gets added to the Goodreads app. And when I finish a book, that too gets noted. So, 66 books. I actually started the year with making my challenge 25 books. And I thought ...
