Finished quilt: Bubbles

Quilt details Name of quilt and Recipient: "Bubbles", or to be more precise: "Bubolor", which is how my kids say the word bubblor. for Emma Vikström Size and Timeline 154 x 153 cm (length x height). timeline quilt top started on June 28th and was done on June 29th. quilt was basted on June 30th. machine-quilted with walking foot quilting on August 4th. bound by machine on  Quilt finidhed (thread ends sewn in) on Aug 13th. label appliqued on the quilt top already June 28th and embroidered details were added on August 13th-14th. Pattern and Fabrics used: No pattern, just an idea of cut out fabric circles my daughter could glue to to a background fabric. Which I would then sew down and add borders to. Quilt details Name of quilt and Recipient: "You, Me and the Sun",  for Janika Sund Size and Timeline 154 x 153 cm (length x height). timeline quilt top started on June 28th and was done on June 29th. quilt was basted on June 30th. machine-quilted with free motion quilting June 30th and July 1st. bound by machine on July 1st label appliqued on the quilt top already June 28th and embroidered details were added at the same time. Pattern and Fabrics used: No pattern, just an idea of a giant sun or compass that I thought up. About the fabrics used for the quilt top Background is a blue solid that was the biggest piece of blue solid I could find in my stash. I think it was fabric meant to be used to make bed linens. Every single piece of fabric to make the quilt top came from my stash, and I had my little 3 y o son help me choose the fabrics. "Blue!" was the main color he wanted, so (no too childish) blue, gray and green fabric...

Finished quilt: Defiant (Hand Pieced QAL quilt 2)

Quilt details Name of quilt and Recipient: ”Defiant”, after the star ship in the Star Trek New Generation-series. Because while I was planning the layout and color scheme to use for the 1st quilt, Discovery , I happened to be watching the Star Trek show Defiant on Netflix. New episodes came out every Monday, just like the new blog posts for the blocks to be constructed. In that universe, the Defiant is a sister ship to both the Enterprise and the Discovery. And the name sort of fit - because I did manage to get the quilt blocks done for Defiant despite me getting a slipped disc in my spine and having to learn how to hand-piece while laying on my back in bed, on painkillers.  myself Size and Timeline 140 x 239 cm (length x height). timeline blocks were constructed between 25th of January and 25th of March. quilt top done by April 4th. quilt was basted on April 12th. hand-quilted between 12.4. - 1.06.2019 and bound between 1 - 2.6.2019. label added/embroidere...
