I'm so clumsy

Since I went dancing yesterday, and then stayed up until 4 a.m. after that ... drinking tea and talking crap with the girls :) ... on Sunday morning, needless to say I've been all butterfingers today. Today has been such an extravaganza in being clumsy, it's almost embarrassingly funny. I've managed, in no particular order, since the dance event, to: spill tea on myself about four times, mostly on my right pant leg dip the yarn I was knitting with into my tea cup tea undrinkable after that, the acid color in the yarn hadn't bonded that well (apparently) giggle stupidly at everything that went wrong today comment on the fact that it's the third time I've eaten cake in three days get the comment "you had your birthday, it's allowed" sew a bag, but leave a pin inside. I had to cut a little hole to get it out. get thrown out of a restaurant/bar leave my debit card at home (makes for a cheap evening out) open up my purse while it being upsi...

White tea cozy

The real Queen of the Tea Cosies would be proud, I'm sure, of me being a loyal subject inspired by her. Although my tea cosies are nowhere near her lovely designs. My (new) white teapot needed a cozy, and I had (finally!) this weekend gotten the yarn I wanted to use. Only thing left was some crocheting Two for tea, tea for two. Tea for two by the TV. TV-tea :) Actually, it's Darjeeling. Say hello to Miss White. Oh! She even wants to show her other side. Pattern : The pattern I used is found on Ravelry, and the design is by Ella Jensen , and it's called "Short and Stout" .   I had to modify the stitch count slightly, because otherwise it wouldn't have been a tight fit. The button is one I bought in a pack at a flea market. Yarn 1,5 skein of Garnstudio's Drops Paris (white, 16), cost 2,25€/skein. Crochet hook 5 mm

Anonymous (and if you want to see more tea-quotes, go to Wikiquote ) I distress, sometimes I'm a mess, but I have to agree with the saying that drinking tea will help you in many situations. Oh, don't get me wrong, I like lots of other beverages, but there is a ... simple joy to be found in the fact that tea actually will make you feel better. (Said the addict to her teapot). My stomach has been a bit upset since yesterday (nothing terrible, but I have no idea why), so I've been drinking tea to calm it down. Tea is great that way: since it's sour (pH between 4-6) , and the milk (if you take it with milk) helps to buffer it (cow milk balances it to the higher pH, close to 6) , your stomach's pH will actually get a bit higher (from it's pH of 1-3) and thus make you feel a bit better. Not so acidic. It's the sa...
