My 29th birthday

Image
Last week-end I had my birthday. I'm now officially 29 years old. Mmmm, birthday cake.  In-officially, I've eaten birthday cake(s) since last Thursday. Both "real" cake, and cupcakes. Oh me gosh, I've even eaten "try-out cupcakes" with Emmis since last-last Thursday! It feels a bit like my calorie intake had a 1000 % increase. Sugar is dangerous, man. Especially in the form och innocent cake. I've felt slightly hyper all the time, and my head has been screaming for more! the entire time.  *hurr* Please, no more cake for a while, okay? We can do it again when it's Micke's birthday, and thank the Goddess it's some odd months until then. Perhaps I'd better show you some photos of the sugary creations, mmm? As well as some other ones, while I'm at it. I swear, you feel sugar-high from just looking at a few of them. Pre-birthday cupcakes at Emmis. Extra lemon in the cupcakes and then lots of carrot-cake ...

Today, I'm officially turning 28 years old. *hooray! singing and dancing in the streets!* We're gonna have my birthday party at this café I like, it's called Bossaliina. And I'm so happy that I'll be able to have cake and tea and don't have to do the dishes afterwards. And I hope that people will have a wonderful time with me there - it might get a liiiiiittle crowded, but where there's love, there's also room. I haven't asked people for any presents, mainly just that they attend and have a coffee or two, but since I'm trying to save up for a dishwasher, I'm collecting cents/buttons/wallet lint for my "Dishwasher fund" (it's a little pink piggybank with the word  Diskmaskinsfonden on the side). I'll post some pictures here after the party :) later edit: I think my party was a success! The cake was very sunny (lemon cheesecake with yellow topping), and I got candles on it, too. I asked people to take a few pictur...

Celebrating Micke's 29th birthday

Nearly every year it's the same. You get one year older, and suddenly you don't want to make a big fuss out of it, and so you decide NOT to celebrate it. Which is exactly what my beloved boyfriend really didn't want to do: celebrate his 29th. Despite this let down, I charged in like a house on fire, and invited a few people over for "a quick cup of birthday-coffee" yesterday. Now, as you might know, me and Micke eat paleo, so I was a little unsure of how to make a birthday cake that didn't contain flour didn't contain 'normal' sugar still was good to eat is cheap and fast to make And then I had the perfect solution: paleo panna cotta! If you use ground vanilla powder, and use honey instead of sugar, then the panna cotta itself is paleo. I know some of you paleo-people don't like using milk, but we do. And, since panna cotta need something else that's also 'sweet' to go with it, I took and put cut fruits in the glasses I mad...
