Linnea 'Ea' quilts...

Browsing through my feeds at Google Reader, I noticed that o h no, someone didn't like their fair  (the post is in Swedish and about "Symässan", the Sewing fair held in Malmö, Sweden). How sad! Although, most of hte things she's written is true about fairs in general (everything about the fair, like tickets and parking, is too expensive, and there's too few vendors with 'good' and 'good-value' products). Good thing I did though. Like the Turku Arts, Crafts and Antiques fair, that is. Only thing I didn't like was the price of the tickets (12 bloody euros!), so it was good that we in the Turku Ravelry group had managed to somewhat (heh! :P ) coordinate us and get in as a group. That way, it was only 8,40 euros. It was fun to walk around with Ulrika and Fredrik - I learnt a lot about 'antique' Finnish handicrafts (mostly glass and silver) that way. Turku Ravelry goes to Turun Kädentaitomessut :) To everyone who's interested, we're going this Saturday at 10 a.m. Meet up with us either at the buss that's leaving at 09:40 a.m. from the bus stop outside Turku's Orthodox Church  or at about 10 a.m. by the ticket office inside Turku Congress Center. We'll be happy to have you :) The reduced price for members of a group is 9 euros, instead of 12 euros (full price). Remember to bring a large enough bag with you, if you want to carry your own jacket and not pay 2 euros for cloak room storage.

This weekend was a bit hectic, as I had made my (our) Saturday as busy as possible. First, shopping at the open air market, then off to Wiklund to buy a pair of nylon-stockings, then the Ravelry-knitalong at Kerttu, and finally a trip out to the Turku Fair center to see a bit of this year's Erotics Fair. I'm so glad that they put in extra busses when there are fairs at the center, because otherwise every bus 'normal' bus would be filled. I didn't want to bring my "horrible" knitting project with me to Kerttu, so I instead started on this small "rag rug"-project. Since I didn't have that many skeins of rags, it was a reeeally small project. I think though that I might actually do something out the rest of the rags I've cut, because knitting with huge needles was really nice. It's fast! Crafts: a loom! Me, Mimi, and a few other girls from her study program (art history) visited Turku Congress Center on Sunday. Reason: to ogle out eyes on antiques, crafts, and art. The fair was actually divided into three parts, and the one we spent most of our time (and most of our money too, heh!) was the area where the Craft -boutiques and -entrepreneurs had their stalls. People were displaying things they had made by weaving, knitting, cross-stitching, beading, sewing with leather and gods know what other things. There were people selling yarn for every possible use, and even a vendor selling the latest in sewing machines. At one stall, where the girls from C04 were, I bought a knee-length skirt made from felt (100% wool!). It's violet, and I reeeeally liked the color. Just had to buy it. Mimi bought a white west at the same stall. Before that, I bought some yarn at Lankabaari 's stall, so now I have enough to make that crocheted vest I want. The main thing I had wan...
